Is it possible to reset the stored meter readings on the unit? I managed to flip the grid side CT when clipping it on and got shitty readings for a few days before realising what I'd done.

Hi,  for safety reason, customer can not reset the kwh counter of WEM3080 or WEM3080T.

You can delete the "place" in IAMMETER and re-add it , then the total record would be deleted .

IAMMETER calculate the billing by the difference of kwh data, so the original data will not affect the billing calculation.

I see. That is a little bit annoying that the only way to rectify this is a hardware reset that end users cannot perform, but... ah well.

Thank you for the answer.

Understand your feeling
But open the reset energy function will bring more unpredictable trouble for the kwh or billing calculation in IAMMETER.
So we decide to close this function in current stage.
Thanks for your understanding.

Hi,

I too would like to be able to reset the statistics.  I am using the mater on various circuits over time and when finished analyzing one I want to move to another circuit.  I would have thought that if I need to reset, I should just be able to do so, after all, I do/should have control over my own meter.

There are no safety concerns to be worried about, and as far as unpredictable results, as long as the end user understands these possibilities, should have complete control over the meter.

Hi:

In most of the case, the products have been used with IAMEMTER-cloud. This is the main usage of this product we have designed for.
The energy data reset operation will affect the parameter calculation in IAMMETER-cloud.

We do not want to be compatible with low-probability applications in a mode that affects the calculation logic of the existing system or greatly increases the complexity of the system.

Hope you can understand.

Hi,

I deleted and recreated the place to reset the data, but in the "Overview" tab I still see the previously accumulated values:

Is this normal ?

If you delete the place in your account, the periodic kWh data would be reset in the system.

so all of the reports would look like you install a new meter. But the kWh register in the energy meter would not be cleared.
If you want to clear the kWh data in the energy meter ,

How about making a "trip" meter similar to what a car has that can be reset at anytime, but the "total" consumption can't be reset.

Is this doable?

Hi:

This function would be developed easily by the client, not by the device.

In the software run in the client,it can request the data from the local API(monitor or monitorjson) ,like this

https://www.iammeter.com/newsshow/blog-fw-features#apimoinitorjson-return-the-measurement-result
and trim the kWh with regard to the requirements.
