Pulse Counter for Water/Gas Consumption

Hi,

I really like your product! It would be great if you could add a pulse counter feature, so we can measure the consumption of water, gas, and more.

Sorry, we’re not very familiar with gas or water meters. Just to clarify—are you asking whether we can provide a pulse counter that pushes accumulated data (similar to kWh readings) to the IAMMETER-cloud?

If your gas or water meter outputs pulses in a way similar to how electricity consumption is measured, it may be possible to capture that data. In that case, could you please share the brand and model of the gas or water meter you’re using, particularly one that provides pulse output?

While IAMMETER-cloud is primarily designed for electricity energy management, we are open to exploring the possibility of introducing gas or water consumption as an additional parameter for a "place" in the system.

I use MQTT, and yes, it would be great if we could have it like kWh. From the pulses, you can also calculate the flow.
For example, with water, you might have 1 pulse per liter.

I have this one with 2 wire : https://lam.itron.com/o/commerce-media/accounts/-1/attachments/3807373

In fact, I found a competitor that offers a generic version allowing you to connect any pulse device to it. So I was wondering if it might be possible for you to add something similar to your product.

Got it — we’ll discuss this requirement internally next week. It’s possible that we may provide an ESP32-based board to achieve this functionality.

By the way, if you don’t mind, could you also let us know which competitor device you’re referring to? We’d like to review it as well to ensure we fully understand the use case and avoid any misinterpretation.
