Applications for the linear power controller

  • Hi there I wish to apply for the linear power controller.
  • I have 20kw of solar on a 3 phase installation.
  • I am controlling a 2.4 kw hot water load that is currently on a timer but will be controlled directly by this new device.
  • I have a 10 kw battery
  • I have a 3 phase iammeter meter measuring the import and export of power to my premises
  • I have a 3 phase iammeter meter measuring my solar production across 3 phase
  • I have a 3 phase iammeter meter measuring my loads so I know my true consumption in the house hold
  • I use a single phase iammeter meter to measure the ups power supplied when operating in grid backup mode.
  • Current bills range from 20 to $40 per month and with this device I hope to reduce it to 0
  • I am a solar contractor and a licenced electrical contractor in Australia.
  • I am keen to test this device and promote it's use to my customers.

Hi.

I'd like to apply for this.

I have a hot water system with a resistive load of 3.5kW.  I have 30kW solar with a 3 phase grid connection and Tesla Powerwall.
I use iammeter cloud with 1 x WEM3080T and 4 x WEM3080, I also poll the APIs locally for use in home asistant.
The WEM3080T monitors the grid connection, 1 of the WEM3080 monitors the battery and the other 3 monitor the solar production at various convenient collection points.
I have not paid a power bill in 5 years and I am in credit each quarter by $200-$300 depending on the season/weather with an 8c FIT.  My hot water system is currently being controlled by Home assistant to run during solar maximum, and currently is set to not turn on if there is insufficient spare power -  {{ states('sensor.entire_site_solar_generation') | float - states('sensor.live_power_usage_2') | float > 4}} only turn on if there's 4kW of spare solar available.  Some days I can't heat the water without dipping into the bettery, this would be great to lower the heating element wattage to suit the available power as a proof of concept!

Hi , please confirm whether this 2.4kw hot water load is 1phase or 3phase ?

please provide the spec of the resistive load, like this https://www.solahart.com.au/products/solar-water-heating/solahart-l-series/302l/

we need to confirm whether the load is compatible with SCR-485 (voltage and current are within the rating of SCR-485)

The activity of the first batch sample testing will end soon.

Looking forward to your further information.

hi there it is single phase

hi there is it too late to test this product? I am keen to install and test.

Please provide some snapshots of your system's current monitoring.

Frankly, it seems your system might not be ideal for this testing since it currently meets self-consumption needs. With 30 kW solar production, you have sufficient daytime power and can fully charge the 10 kWh battery, which should cover nighttime power supply.

So why are you still paying $20-40 monthly? Is it because the 10 kWh battery isn’t enough for your nighttime energy consumption?

Consider controlling the heater with a timer to only operate during the day. This adjustment could optimize your system's effectiveness.
