Hi!

I have a 3 phase solar system, 12kW coupled to a ZCS 10kW 3 phase inverter and a 16kW Pylontech battery. Is there any way to monitor the whole system including the battery? I did not find a schematics for the connection. Thanks in advance for your help

Hi:

Could you please provide a simple sketch map of your system?

Hi, thanks for your answer. This is the sketch of my installation. The battery is a Pylontech DC connected directly between the PV system and the inverter. I have 2 PCS WEM3080T and would like to know how to find the power coming to and from the battery. Thanks in advance

By that diagram, I assume you systems is a hybrid inverter (ie same inverter does the solar and battery). The Iammeter is only an AC meter as far as I know, NOT a DC meter. So you probably can't measure any of the DC (eg your connect to the battery or the connection to the PV). You will need some sort of DC meter for that.

However, what can you get out of the inverter. Most of these will have some sort of interface which has all thoses details. If you can interface with that to get the required information, it would solve your problems. So some research in that area I think will give you what you need/

Iammeter can monitor any of the AC lines in the graph above. So it would be very good for monitoring the Solar/Battery input and output (but not seperated between solar and battery), you loads and the main grid to give you a rich source of information.

But I would firsh look at they you can get from the hybrid inverter. If it is doing offsetting of the grid with the battery, it almost certainly has an inbuild meter which already monitors the grid (or the loads) so it can offset that. And it probably has good details about itself.

If it does all this, but no tool for monitoring (but it does have some sort of network connection so you can access the data that is probably there), you might just need a tool to monitor and graph it. If so and you are techy and interested in this sort of thing, I totally recommend Home Assistant (look it up). I would say it is not trivial to setup. But it is very powerful and if you want a good tool that is likely to bring info from lots of different sources, graph them and automate things.

Iammeter has its own benefits, and in fact I integrate Iammeter into Home Assistant, even thought I have a lot of the data already from the solar inverter etc. The other advantage of Iammeter for the AC stuff is they have an excellent cloud interface with lots of nice reporting. And this would be a much lower learning exersise than starting from scratch with Home Assistant. But if you want individual stats seperated for PV and battery, you will need some sort of DC meter or interface to the hybrid inverter.

Thanks a lot for your help and suggestion. I will certainly get the Iammeter integrated with home assistant and will try to find out a DC meter to put on the lines. Thanks again!!
