Hi,

I have just bought the 3080 150A Single Phase for my home electric monitoring. I have a Solar system, battery and an inverter. Can this single device monitor my energy use, Solar production and feed in, ideally battery status.... (?)

Thanks

Hi:

The one-phase energy monitor WEM3080 can only be used to measure one circuit (grid or solar PV) and the premise is both your grid and solar PV are single-phase systems.

Bugger! Thats a waste of cash then. I want to monitor Battery, Solar and Grid. :(

Ok thanks for confirming.

Hi:

you can try to install the single-phase energy meter on the grid side firstly, then you will be able to monitor both import(from the grid) energy and export (to the grid) energy and the feeding power.

Although it lacks battery and solar PV monitoring, but the grid side information can also let you know more status about your system.

If you want to monitor all,

Firstly, both solar PV and grid monitoring are based on AC but batteries are DC. If you want to monitor all ,it needs two kinds of meters (AC and DC).
Second, Solar PV monitoring and grid energy monitoring are also based on different circuits, you need to install the AC energy monitor in different positions.
A single-phase energy monitor can only be installed in one position, so it can not measure both grid energy consumption and solar PV generation.
You need two single-phase energy meters, installed in two different positions, one monitor grid side while another monitor the solar pv.

WEM3080T(three-phase energy meter) supports split-phase usage. You can consider it as three single-phase energy meters. So you can also use one WEM3080 to do such works.

How to use a single-phase energy meter or 3 phase energy meter in the solar pv monitoring system,  please refer to
